Connection: The link Between Spirituality and Health for a Happier Life

Reading that there is link between spirituality and health may initially seem mystical, “whoo-whoo,” or even off-putting if you’ve had a negative experience with religion. However, scientific research continues to prove that spiritual practices can positively impact mental and physical well-being. As I explore and share the ROCK thru principles to cultivate a fulfilled life, ‘Connection to Spirit’ tends to be the most sensitive principle, but I consistently find that spiritual connections play a crucial role in our contentment. Spirituality is deeply personal, and not every approach will resonate with everyone. However, the data is clear: strengthening spiritual connections can improve overall health and wellness.

APPLY IT IN 10 MINUTES

                  This simple technique, excerpts from Gabrielle Bernstein‘s New York Times                    bestseller, helps you connect with ‘spirit guides.’ Make it your own—whether that’s God              and Jesus (my choice), the Universe, Shiva, Buddha, or what aligns with your beliefs.

1. Get into a Receptive State

“When you meditate, you quiet your mind so that you can hear the wisdom of the guidance that’s within you and around you.”

Find a quiet space, close your eyes, and take deep breaths to relax.

 

2. Invite Your Spirit Guide In

“The more you ask, the more you receive—period.”

Say a simple prayer or intention, such as: “Thank you, guides of the highest truth and compassion, for revealing yourselves to me now.”

 

3. Listen & Trust

“The key to receiving guidance is to trust in the guidance you receive.”

Notice any sensations, thoughts, or emotions that arise. Be open without overanalyzing.

4. Write & Channel Messages

“After you meditate, get out your journal and let your guides speak through you.”

Begin writing with the prompt: “Dear guides, what would you like me to know?” Allow the words to flow naturally.
